We are meeting the challenge of Physical Inactivity, which causes disease and is the 4th leading risk of premature death globally
When used effectively, Physical Activity can be a powerful medication in the fight against disease. Our unique digital innovation now uses this power to deliver individual behaviour change and empowered self-management for health. It is natural, safe and accessible to everyone.
Is a 12-week digital prevention therapy designed to lower future disease risk through the bespoke prescription of physical activity, and evolved from our research with the University of Bath. It provides guided self -management and enables authentic choice to support self-endorsed lifestyle change.
Our interactive software is dynamic & evidence based
KiActiv® Health engages users by making it about them – our bespoke and data driven approach puts the individual at the centre. In a recent pilot we demonstrated over 93% adherence to the 12-week therapy.
How it works
We collect accurate physical activity data using the latest on-body monitoring technology.
View your multidimensional physical activity profile and explore your data for the different dimensions to see how you compare to the health guidelines.
Physical Activity and Health
Leading an active lifestyle can prevent type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, some cancers, and other common serious conditions – reducing the risk of developing each by at least 30%. Based on evidence from prominent sources such as the World Health Organisation, the Department of Health and the American College of Sports Medicine, the KiActiv® HealthCheck analyses your data to show you the impact your physical activity is having on your future risk of lifestyle diseases.
Multidimensional Physical Activity
There are different ways to harness the protective properties of physical activity because it has multiple independent biologically-important dimensions. Focussing on one dimension alone creates a danger of developing a false picture of activity which may be detrimental to personal health outcomes.
The published research from our partners at University of Bath shows robust evidence that personalised multidimensional physical activity profiling is crucial to providing an accurate assessment of an individual’s physical activity and for providing precise tailored advice. It is also integral to influencing successful behaviour change through greater understanding and offering activity choices tailored to an individual’s needs.
Proven Engagement + Motivation
We employ proven behaviour change techniques in order to inspire and empower individuals on their journey to behaviour change
Our interactive visualisations were developed using iterative feedback from patients and practitioners and were shown to:
- Display complex information in an easy to understand format
- Enhance patients’ knowledge of their physical activity
- Inspire the confidence to change and self-manage
